Connecting Turkic Universities for a Stronger Future
TURKUNIB (Turkic Universities Union) is a dynamic initiative designed to strengthen academic bonds and foster collaboration among universities across the Turkic world. Uniting 170 universities across Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Hungary, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, TURKUNIB builds a shared higher education space rooted in common history, culture, and language.
By creating a unified platform, the program encourages student mobility, faculty exchange, and joint research projects that address shared regional and global challenges. Through its network – including the Orhun Student and Academic Staff Exchange Program – TURKUNIB enhances educational opportunities while promoting cultural understanding, knowledge transfer, and innovation.
TURKUNIB is committed to preparing the next generation of scholars, leaders, and professionals who will contribute to the sustainable development of their countries while reinforcing the sense of unity among Turkic nations.

A farewell ceremony was held for Mr. Sadi Jafarov
Mr. Sadi Jafarov has completed his term as Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). A farewell ceremony was held on 23 October 2025 at the OTS Headquarters in Istanbul. Secretary General Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev praised Mr. Jafarov’s professionalism and contributions to strengthening cooperation among Turkic States and enhancing the Secretariat’s institutional capacity.

UNESCO has officially proclaimed 15 December as “World Turkic Language Family Day” during its 43rd General Conference in Samarkand on 3 November 2025. The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) welcomed this historic decision, emphasizing that it recognizes the ancient roots, cultural unity, and global significance of the Turkic language family.
The 8th General Assembly of TÜRKÜNİB has begun in Tashkent!
The 8th General Assembly of the Union of Turkic Universities (TÜRKÜNİB) has started in Tashkent. The event brings together officials from Uzbekistan, the Organization of Turkic States, the Turkic Academy, and representatives from around 70 universities — including about 200 rectors and scholars. During the assembly, participants are discussing President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s initiative to hold the “Days of Turkic Science and Innovation”, and an exhibition of Uzbek universities has been organized.
